Ivan Tangkulung is a versatile composer, Music Director, and pianist whose work ranges from Music for Theatre, Film, to Contemporary Music .
Ivan has written for local and international ensembles such as New Thread Quartet (New York), SETTS Ensemble (Singapore), Trinity Youth Symphony Orchestra (Indonesia), etc. His latest commercial works include film scores for Indonesian Series Surat Cinta Dari Starla (2018), Bertepuk Sebelah Friendzone (2018), and Musical Theatre Plastic Fantastic (2019, Produced by Gigi Art of Dance)
Ivan has also worked with and arranged for numerous Indonesian Contemporary Musicians such as Agung Munthe, Lea Simanjuntak, Demas Narawangsa, Kiara Riz, and many more. Besides composing, he is also an active Music Director and Conductor, directing Teater Musikal Nusantara’s Production of Into the Woods (2019), and Indonesian Christian Band Symphony Worship.
Ivan studied Composition under the tutelage of Malaysian composer Chong Kee Yong and Jazz Piano under Indonesian Pianist Glenn Dauna.
