British composer, Lynn Blake John, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and a Master’s degree in Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She studied composition with Peter Williams, professor of music at the University of Wales in Swansea and she also studied music theory at the Guildhall in London. Lynn is a composer for the Welsh Arts and Education Network. She was a Composition Fellow at the 2018 Wyoming Festival, 2nd prize winner of the Cypress (Texas) Clarinet Quartet Competition 2018, winner of Call for Scores, Spring Solo Clarinet Recital, 2019, and winner of Call for Scores, Chromatic Fusion, 2019. Her recent compositions include the operetta, “FeatherEx”, and chamber music for the Chione Quintet in Minneapolis, the AdZel Clarinet Duo, and the Sheffield (UK) Flute Society.
