Pakistani composer, Usman Anees, is a graduate of Trinity College London with a Fellowship in Music Composition and Piano Performance. He has worked as concert pianist and composer of concert, theatre and commercial music. Among other things, he has recorded the complete 32 Piano Sonatas by L. V. Beethoven. His music for piano and other ensemble has been played in Germany, USA and Asia. His music can be described as a fusion of modes and Raags from his hometown, into Western technique of homophony, counterpoint and polytonality.
Himself an exponent of modern classical music by contemporary composers, his music has been played and sung by acclaimed artists in solo, duet and in opera performances.
His current projects include a piano concerto, an opera Saiful Muluk and a symphony, all of which he’s planning for the 2019 season. He’s a passionate educator and teaches piano and composition alongside his composition and performances.
